Philippe Parreno-Anywhere, Anywhere Out of the World

When I first saw this video, I felt uncomfortable because of a person-shaped character, Annlee. Eyes without pupils, pale skin, unnatural face. The character in the video, who was out of the "normal human form", made me feel creepy. But after watching the video over and over again, I was able to understand part of what she said and it made me focus more on the thoughts she gave than the impressions of her appearance.

She compares her situation, which sold for 46,000 yen, and the characters that could be "heroes." Characters who can be heroes have individual narratives, while she has no narratives. She's just a product she doesn't have any history or personality.

But since she was sold, she has acquired a new look to voice (actually not hers). She says that her voice is not actually hers and the owner of the voice, Daniella, has something to sell, but she has nothing to sell because she is a product. She then adds that she won't sell anything. And she declares that she doesn't belong to anyone anymore and she is 'not a ghost, just a shell' telling that she is a virtual being formed from a imaginary material.

The act of giving personality to a creation was unfamiliar. Digital creations of this era are regarded as non-characteristic products. It also feels further away because it is a virtual being that does not exist in this world. But the author of this work gives character and voice to a virtual being formed by a imaginary material and frees her from copyright or ownership.

Her smile at the end makes her feel as if she had humanity. She is a free being that exists outside this world, a shell that clearly exists, not a ghost that wanders through the realm of non-existence. In the meantime, I have been convinced that digital creation does not really exist, but this work has served as an opportunity to rethink the dimensions of digital creation and its existence.

++Draft Video

These days, paper books are replaced by audio books, YouTube videos, and e-books, but masterpieces such as Macbeth and Julius Caesar continue to be consumed. For us, the video generation, 'Video that reads books' may not be very strange. But what do you think about the hateful contents in the book that the video reads? I intend to point out the expressions of hatred that our generation is beginning to recognize, through the text to sound service (TTS) and videos that are familiar to our generation. The words borrowed by the video are excerpts from "masterpieces" that are still loved. These writings are written in the old age and are used to criticize how old-fashioned the ideas of those who still use hate speech are. In addition, severe noise effects and malfunctioning effects were also used for this purpose.

As I talked with other people, my thoughts about the workshop changed in detail. At first vaguely I wanted to teach how to make business cards through illustrators. However, through meetings with other people, I came to think about the media and the number of people who will conduct the workshop. Making workshop videos is clear, but my skills are far from sufficient. The workshop with streaming services can reflect the audience's opinions in real time, but my speech is lacking. The perfect way for me is to make a workshop booklet. I want to make this book public.

My plan is like this: -I will make a book about usage of illustrator and make a business card through this program -I will invite people through Instagram page of DMP -They only have to prepare the program illustrator to conduct the workshop
