I looked at the works on the WARE site several times, making posters for special lectures. Although it didn't help me much in making posters, WARE's site served me as a source of understanding of special lectures because I'm not good at English. My favorite work was E.A.T., which was presented at the Microwave International New Media Art Festival in 2019.Being interested in one work naturally made me interested in other activities of WARE.
Last summer, I saw a combination of media art and painting at an exhibition by Henri Toulouse-Lautrec. When I saw the work, and before then, I thought that the exhibition using media art had a limitation that it was nothing more than a photo zone.
Because of this, as a person majoring in digital media, I have always had concerns about media and exhibitions and used to appreciate other 'formal' art more. But after the special lecture, I completely changed my mind.
I realized that I had a narrow view, highly valued formal works and exhibitions. With the advent of new media, the appearance of works and exhibitions is bound to change. This is just a new trend, not a decline in the status of art or a turn of events into a bad one.
